Historical zones
- Below 0.8: deep discount. Historically rare, and it has marked cheap periods.
- 0.8 to 1.5: normal range.
- 1.5 to 2.4: elevated. The price is well above its trend.
- Above 2.4: overheated. Past cycle tops happened here.
Pi Cycle Top
A related signal compares the 111-day average with twice the 350-day average. When the 111-day line crosses above, it has lined up with previous cycle tops within a few days. Like the Mayer Multiple it looks backwards and can fail in a new cycle.
Limits
Both indicators describe where the price is relative to its own past. They are useful context, not timing tools, and this page is not financial advice.
